Life Groups
WHY?
In the book of Acts, following the day of Pentecost, we see believers gathering together regularly—meeting in homes and in the temple courts. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to fellowship, to sharing meals, and to prayer. This picture of community is at the very heart of our Life Group ministry.
HOW?
At Wainfleet BIC, Life Groups meet in a variety of ways. Some groups gather weekly after the Sunday morning service during our Breakout time, while others meet monthly in homes or here at the church for a shared meal and fellowship. This year, we are also looking to offer topical Bible study groups that will meet for a specific number of weeks. In addition, some of you may be interested in simply meeting and connecting with others over a shared meal in someone’s home, building new friendships and community along the way.
WHEN?
Some of our groups have been meeting for many years, while others are brand new. Some are formed by location, while others are shaped around common life stages or shared experiences. No matter the format, gathering together as the body of Christ is essential for our spiritual growth—building friendships, encouraging one another, and praying together as we navigate life and faith.

Common Ground
This summer, we would love to create simple and meaningful opportunities for our church family to connect, build relationships, and enjoy fellowship together. In Acts 2:46–47, we are reminded that the early church gathered together with “glad and sincere hearts,” sharing meals and celebrating the common ground they found in Jesus Christ.
With that spirit in mind, we are planning Common Ground Connections during the weeks of:
• June 15
• July 20
• August 17
We are looking for individuals or families willing to host a casual gathering for approximately 8–10 people (or whatever number works comfortably for you). These gatherings are meant to be relaxed and welcoming — a chance to meet new people, strengthen friendships, and enjoy time together.
A gathering could include:
• A backyard campfire
• Outdoor games
• A dessert or snack evening
• A potluck meal
• Hotdogs and marshmallows
• A swim night
• A hike or outdoor activity
• Or simply sitting together and fellowshipping
Hosts are free to choose:
• Which month(s) they would like to host
• The evening or weekend date that works best for them
• The style and format of their gathering
Host Responsibilities
1. Let me know which of the three summer weeks you are available to host.
2. Choose a date and time that works best for you.
3. Share your address and a brief description of your gathering plans (potluck, dessert night, campfire, hike, etc.).
4. If you would prefer a smaller group, simply let me know your comfortable number of guests.
